Referral Programs & Super Customers

An overview of referral programs and creating super customers

  • This page discusses the best practices to setting up a referral program for an existing customer. It also includes an appendix of confirmed accounts with referral programs. 
  • Setup Process
    • Negotiation
      • Any referral program is at the discretion of the Management Team. Any negotiation and final approval must come from a member of the Management Team
    • Create a M&M (Shell) customer
      • The M&M customer will be the super customer to nest both the main customer and all their referrals under
        • If the beneficiary of the program does exist
          • Confirm with management team sponsor and director of merchandising that the vendor assignments are correct on the beneficiary
          • Once confirmed clone the beneficiary
            • Use naming convention of “Beneficiary Name” + Referral + Super Customer for “Name field”
              • Ex. Vector = Vector Referral Super Customer”
            • Use above name in all caps with no spaced for “Code” field
            • For email use above name +@purchasingplatform.com for domain name
            • For first name use “Beneficiary Name” + Referral
            • For last name use “Super Customer”
            • For owner phone use 555.555.5555
            • Under “Other Details” click the following boxes:
              • Vendor Matrix
              • Corporate Catalog
              • Whitelabeling
            • Click “Save Clone”
            • Designate the customer as a “Super Customer”
              • Select the newly created customer
              • Click “Edit” in the upper right corner
      • Exempt them membership fees
        • On the same edit page as above check box for “Exempt from membership fees”
      • Nest beneficiary customer under newly created super customer
        • Return to the beneficiary customer page and enter edit screen
        • Under “Super Customer” select the newly created super customer via the drop down
      • If the beneficiary customer does not exist
        • Create a new customer with contact and email proved by management team sponsor
        • Coordinate with management team sponsor and/or director of merchandising to set vendor grid and any whitelabeling on newly created customer
        • Once complete follow the above steps to clone beneficiary customer
    • Create a link for the customer to distribute
    • Send link to requesting customer or manager
      • Once registration occur via the provided link, the full list of referral accounts will appear on the super customer page. Each account will be listed as a sub-customer
        • On the super customer page, click “Info” from the navigation bar on the left hand side of the page. If there are registrations for the program they will show as sub-customers image (42)-1

  • Marketplace Signups- Channel Partnerships
    • These super customers register new customers and users from their environment. New accounts should not be setup via self-registration. If asked refer contact the register via the appropriate super customer’s site

    • These are the generic environments set up for a basic environment and should be used with contacts enquiring about access.  Use the link best suited to source of the contact and asset class under management
