Activating Equity Residential Locations in Ops Tech
How to bring new EQR properties online via the OpsTech portal
- Activation requests originate with EQR and our submitted via their own Ops Tech portal. Notification requests are sent to billing@purchasingplatform.com. The finance team is instructed to forward these requests to the MS team
- Upon receipt of new request, Access Ops Tech portal
- Information on site, user name, and password located within 1Password
- Listed under Member Services Vault
- If you do not have access, contact Carla Byers to request access
- The home page of Ops Tech will show a history of any type of request

- Click “Customers” tab to access the activation request page
- Any current requests will be shown on the page
- To activate a property, you must add the account number and save
- Account numbers for Ops Tech are equal to the user ID on the Purchasing Platform backend
- Search for the location requesting activation on our backend

- Search for the location requesting activation on our backend
- If the location does exist on our backend
- Select the correct property from the list of results to access the property page
- Click the user name that corresponds to the name of the company

- On the user page, copy or record the user ID in the URL

- Use this number and enter as the account number in Ops Tech and click save.
- This will activate the property
- If the property does not exist in our backend
- Create the location using Adding Locations article

- Create a user with a name matching the location name using Creating New Users
- If there is no email for the user creation, use a holding address until one is available
- eqr+today's date@purchasingplatform.com
- Ex. eqr41026@purchasingplatform.com
- If there is no email for the user creation, use a holding address until one is available
- Once confirmed, repeat above steps for if property does exist
- Create a user with a name matching the location name using Creating New Users
